Why Solar?
Sustainability
Solar electric power is renewable and sustainable, providing utility grade power without the need for fossil fuels. Solar power produces no emissions, reducing your carbon footprint on the environment. Greenhouse gas emissions for your dwelling can be reduced by several tonnes per year.
Economic
Installing a solar power system to your home can be financially viable. A solar system can provide a valuable hedge against the consistent rise of electricity rates. Solar power can also generate income by the sale of your excess electricity back to the grid at a premium rate using the state government feed-in tariff.
Once you have invested in your system, you will be producing power independently. This makes you will be less susceptible to increases in energy costs for the life of your system. Electricity rates have historically increased and it is predicted that future prices will dramatically increase in Queensland.
To maximise your return we encourage clients to minimise electricity usage during the day so more power is sold back to the grid. When your power usage is managed properly you can reduce your power bill significantly so that you have little or nothing to pay each quarter.
Reliability
Solar electric systems are very reliable due to the fact that they have no moving parts. Very little is needed to maintain them other than an occasional spray off with a hose. Solar panels often have performance warranties extending up to 30 years. Inverters have extended warranties up to 20 years.
Government Rebates
The Federal Government has a rebate system known as Small Trading Certificates or STC’s. STC’s effectively mean that the government will pay for part of your solar system. These STC’s will show as a point of sale discount on your contract with us. Solaris Solar Energy will then collect and trade these certificates on your behalf.
Increased Home Value
According to studies conducted in the USA, for every $1,000 reduction in annual operating costs from energy efficiency, a home’s value is increased by $20,000. Essentially the value of the home is increased by the annual operating costs savings multiplied by 20.
Also a 2kW system before rebates has a cost of approximately $14,000, so the capital investment on your home is dramatically increased.
